Design & Contract Administration
Maynard Marks provides Design and Project Management services for the completion of residential projects.
The process involves liaising between Registered Architects and our client to provide a design brief to develop concept plans for any given project.
Once the concept is complete and approved by the client we would move into detailed design and application for a Building Consent for the completion of the works.
Either concurrently with the application process, or after the issue of the Building Consent, we would tender the works to suitably experienced and qualified contractors in order to obtain fixed price competitive tenders for the completion of the project. Alternatively a contract may be negotiated with a preferred contractor.
After completion of a detailed tender analysis (in the case of tendering) a recommendation is made to the client for the selection of the preferred contractor, a contract would then be drawn up, and be put in place between the client and contractor, typically under New Zealand Standard NZS:3910 2003 Conditions of Contract for Building and Civil Engineering Construction. We would then administer the contract as ‘Engineer to the Contract’ monitoring the works and programme, certifying progress payments, issuing variation orders, and generally acting as Contract Administrator, ensuring successful completion of the project.
