Prior to becoming a building surveyor, Jade was an architectural designer. After completing her Bachelor of Architectural Studies, she worked at a small North Canterbury-based architectural design practice as an architectural designer, progressing to an intermediate designer/assistant manager and gaining her Design LBP as her experience grew. She became involved with weathertightness remediation projects and thoroughly enjoyed this work. This led her to pursue a career as a building surveyor

Jade’s background allows her to see projects from both the perspective of a building surveyor and an architectural designer, which is particularly useful on remediation projects as she knows which designs will work.

Jade is regularly engaged to provide advice in relation to earthquake claims on behalf of insurance companies in the Canterbury region. She is also involved in asbestos surveying and sampling, condition surveying, defect and damage surveys, insurance reinstatement assessments and weathertightness investigations.

Jade is driven to help people. She enjoys the challenge of investigating buildings, uncovering the causes of issues and developing solutions to fix these. She takes a holistic view: considering the wider job as well as the details. Clients can expect Jade to keep her promises, provide a high level of service and deliver quality work as a result of her thorough and analytical approach.

Jade is currently working towards becoming a Licensed Asbestos Assessor through WorkSafe NZ.
