Your new opportunity
Are you an experienced Architectural Designer ready to take the lead on diverse and meaningful projects?
We’re looking for an intermediate Architectural Designer to join our Design team in Christchurch or Auckland. This is a great opportunity for someone who has developed strong architectural and technical foundations and is ready to take greater responsibility for delivering projects, working with clients and coordinating with project teams.
The role works closely with our Christchurch and Auckland based design teams and provides architectural design consultancy services across a variety of projects. You’ll have support from senior team members while taking ownership of delivering quality work to agreed standards, timeframes and budgets.
This position would suit someone who enjoys solving remediation design challenges and other technical problems, communicates confidently with clients and consultants, and can manage their own work while recognising when senior input is needed.
You’ll contribute to the delivery of projects by:
- Developing architectural concepts, drawings, models and presentation materials.
- Preparing accurate technical and consent documentation that meets project requirements and building regulations.
- Coordinating design updates and working with clients, consultants and other project stakeholders.
- Conducting site visits and helping resolve design and delivery issues.
- Supporting projects through to completion, with a focus on quality, timeframes and a positive client experience.
You’ll continue to build your technical expertise, consulting skills and project delivery capability, with support from senior team members.
What you will bring to the team
We’re looking for someone who is motivated and organised with:
- A relevant architecture‑related diploma or degree.
- Ideally 3-5 years experience working in an architectural practice.
- Experience preparing architectural designs and technical documentation in ArchiCAD with a sound understanding of the New Zealand Building Code and consent processes.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to work with clients, consultants and project teams.
- Good judgement, attention to detail and the ability to manage priorities while delivering high-quality work.
- Progress and commitment towards registration as an Architect or a Licensed Building Practitioner.
- A full NZ driver license for site visits.
