robert-mcallister-largeAs a professionally qualified Building Surveyor and a Licensed Asbestos Assessor, Robert boasts a wealth of knowledge and experience across all aspects of building construction and compliance management including asbestos, water, gas, mechanical and electrical. Robert’s specialist building surveying expertise has been further enhanced, since arriving in New Zealand in 2015, by undertaking weathertightness investigations and producing detailed evidential reports for private clients. His recent specialist areas of work have been with a number of large commercial clients, providing asbestos project tender analysis, scope reviews, independently monitoring removal projects and providing reoccupation certification.

Prior to relocating to New Zealand, Robert worked with, and managed, a team of mechanical and electrical surveyors undertaking compliance monitoring and management for asbestos, water testing, gas, electrical, entry door systems, gates and barriers, boosted water and call alarm systems for a significant social housing provider.  He was personally responsible for all duties associated with the annual contract management of multiple individual contracts totalling £6.6M.

In his previous role as a member of the client contract management team for repairs and maintenance, Robert gained an in-depth understanding of the difficulties and drivers associated with managing a stock of 60,000 properties, and the complications in successfully dealing with multiple interested parties including stakeholders, contractors and consultants simultaneously.

Other projects that Robert has experience in include asbestos removal project management; stock condition surveys for domestic and commercial projects; due diligence; management of a national delivery team of surveyors annually inspecting approximately 4,000 properties, including the set-up, management and auditing of asbestos documentation such as reports, removal plans and clearance documentation for all incoming residents to comply with UK regulations; and procuring and managing various alterations, refurbishments and remedial/upgrade works.
